Welcome to the web site, for family ancestry and history of,
                                The Bride Valley area from:-
Symondsbury to Portesham and all villages & hamlets south of the A35 (Dorchester Road).
At this time Swyre, Puncknowle and Abbotsbury are the starting area for this web site.
We are no longer local to the area, and now live in Kent; however our family roots and other family members are still in the area and we always feel at home when we are there.

To read our story, this has been a long journey for us but the rewards have been beyond words. This site has been created with only one motive, to promote the beautiful area that my family comes from, to share all the information that we have found and gathered about my family, and the desire to help you trace your family roots within 'The Bride Valley'.

Since starting our Ancestry research our family seems to be growing on a daily basis, and we now have regular contact with our new family members in the Dorset area, sadly we have missed so many relatives by leaving it too late!!
We have decided to dedicate this site to two people, one my Mum, Winifred Warwick nee Dorey whose family comes from The Bride Valley area, and Desmond Gape her 2nd cousin who sadly we never met, but now have regular contact with his family that now feels so much our family.
.
Site dedicated to Winifred Warwick nee Dorey & Desmond Gape
(And a special thanks to Sue at The Bull in Swyre for providing a focal point)
